PORTER HARDWARE & RENTAL INC. enjoys a fine reputation with our community, neighbors, customers and suppliers.   We are all very proud of this reputation and success of our company, and feel very strongly that these achievements were accomplished in a large measure because of our employees and their professionalism.
 

The business was started by Cortez D Porter in 1936 as a small restaurant.  Over the years it developed into a filling station, a grocery store, a hardware store and a variety store.  In 1946 Raymond O Porter joined the firm as it continued to expand with new products and increased sales.  In 1974 a tornado completely demolished the existing building.  Porter Hardware was out of business for six months.  At that time Porter Hardware joined Hardware Wholesalers as their main supplier and in 1984 remodeled as a Do-It Center.  Today the founder’s grandson David A Porter is the C.E.O of the Firm.
