Rental Policies
*All rentals will require a credit card on file*
*Porter Hardware reserves the right to refuse service to anyone*
*Unpaid balances can result in being refused from renting at Porter Hardware*
Rental charges are based on Time Out and not Time Used. We ask all of our customers to refrain from requesting a rental charge reduction because the item rented was not used, someone forgot to return it, or weather did not permit the planned type or duration of use. In the circumstance that our equipment breaks down, Porter Hardware & Rental needs to be notified immediately, so that arrangements/adjustments can be made. Depending upon the circumstances, the contract could be subject to a partial refund/full refund. If the breakdown is not notified immediately, it is managers discretion if a refund will be issued. Our rental prices are subject to change from time to time, so please call to confirm whether the item desired remains priced as expected.
Party and event rental items are rented on a 1 to 3 day period based on availability.
Minimum Rental Periods: 3 Hour, 8 Hour and 24 Hour depending on equipment rented.
Day Rental: Open to Close depending on business hours, which may vary.
Week Rental: Seven (7) consecutive calendar days.
Month Rental: Four (4) consecutive calendar weeks.
A credit card may be required when renting certain items. A friendly reminder, a Debit Card is not a Credit Card.
Trailers are owned locally, Porter Hardware & Rental does not have any one way trailer rentals. Trailers rented from Porter Hardware are not allowed outside a 30 mile radius of Porter Hardware.
In the event any of our equipment will be used in a painting, spraying or construction environment, care must be made to cover or protect the equipment from paint, over spray or excessive soiling. Additional labor charges will apply if any equipment needs repainting or cleaning, it is sole discretion of Porter Hardware & Rental.
All of our equipment and machines are rented out full of fuel, and they must be returned full of fuel. Returned equipment and machines that require refueling will be topped off and additional charges will apply. If you are unsure or do not know if the equipment uses gasoline or diesel fuel, please ask and don't guess.
All Equipment is not allowed outside a 30 mile radius of Porter Hardware.
The following are the responsibility of the customer:
- Customers are responsible for bringing back equipment. All equipment breakdowns that are due to customer negligence, need to be brought back to Porter Hardware & Rental for repair. If customer requests an on-site repair, a service charge may apply
- Flat or damaged tires.
- If a customer is unsure about operating or safety procedures for equipment, please call or ask.
- Customers are responsible to properly secure rental equipment in or on any transport vehicle.
- Customers are responsible to load trailers properly with a 60/40 load weight ratio. 60% of the load should be placed in front of the axle(s), and 40% of the load should be placed behind the axle(s). Improperly loading and overloading a trailer can lead to trailer damage, bodily damage and even death.
- Porter Hardware & Rental reserve the right to refuse to hook a trailer/equipment to a vehicle that is inadequate or improperly equipped to handle the load.
- Porter Hardware & Rental are not responsible for items left unattended in our lot after hours. Doing so, is your responsibility and your risk. If you are not prepared to cover the full replacement value, do not leave the equipment on our lot after hours.
- Neither Porter Hardware & Rental, nor its employees, are responsible for any damage to a customer’s vehicle while loading or unloading rental equipment.
- Porter Hardware & Rental does NOT supply straps, balls, or receivers with any rental. It is the customer's responsibility to make sure they have these items prior to renting from Porter Hardware & Rental. If needed these items can be purchased in our store.
- Porter Hardware & Rental does NOT supply harnesses with any rental. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure they have the proper safety equipment prior to renting from Porter Hardware & Rental. Harnesses may be purchased in our store if needed.
